The PPI experience culminates with a trip to the U.S. Capitol where participants get a hands-on look at how to apply grassroots advocacy strategies to the federal legislative process. The Capitol Hill Day begins with participants hearing from a panel of legislative staff about how they made their personal journies to Capitol Hill and the lessons they have learned about effective advocacy along the way. Participants will then have the opportunity to meet with their elected officials and/or staff to share their stories about their work in schools and advocate for policies and practices critical to school psychology and school mental health.
